Many changes went on since the beginning of MINASLIGAS' activities in 1980. The demand for new products and technologies, the quality requirements have grown a great deal in the World and in the company.

Along all these years MINASLIGAS progressed naturally, in order to keep pace with the market demands, diversifying its action, increasing its capacity and improving its production processes. Having started with only one 15 MVA furnace for

ferrosilicon, we have now 6 furnaces, with a total capacity of 90 MVA, which enables us to produce up to 60,000t/year of ferrosilicon and 22,000t/year of silicon metal, plus a significant volume of microsilica. Our products reach industries in Brazil and in countries of all Continents. Keeping its firm determination to grow both in the domestic and in the export markets MINASLIGAS invests in infra - structure, human resources and technology.
