Every human activity exerts some impact on the environment. MINASLIGAS' permanent concern is to minimize such impact and to develop concrete action to protect and to preserve the ecological systems within the areas reached by its operations.

Besides strictly complying with the regulations for environment preservation and effluent control, MINASLIGAS uses eucalyptus charcoal produced from wood grown within its own reforestation projects and keeps an annual schedule of forestation and reforestation that ensures the preservation of the native vegetation and, at the same time, the quality of the charcoal.

Additionally, the company develops a "Sustained Handling Project" in several areas of the "cerrado" type, including the protection of natural water springs and the perennation of streams, lagoons, swamps, etc. The "cerrado" environment is thus preserved, with its ecologic equilibrium maintained, so ensuring the natural growth of the animal and vegetal species in the area.
