The basic raw materials for the production of Ferro Silicon 75 are quartz, coal, an iron and a heat source (which we use electrical power).

STANDARD 75% FERRO SILICON

Ferro Silicon 75 Standard is used on a large scale in the steel industries and foundries for the manufacturing of steel, serving as a deoxidizing additive and as an alloying element. 

It has a wide application as an alloy source for steel production. It is used in the automobile industry, manufacturing of engines, cars, and in civil construction, in the production of rebar and pipes.

High Purity 75%Ferro Silicon is used in the fabrication of special steel, among them, the guided and nonguided grain silicon, applied in the fabrication of transformer cores, power generators and other electric equipment.

The raw materials are selected and classified according to their physical-chemical characteristics. These raw materials are properly weighed and sent to the reduction process in Electric Submerged Arc Furnaces.

Inside the Electric Furnaces, chemical reactions of reduction of quartz and iron source by coal occur through insertion of the heat source. Electric power is introduced into the Electric Oven via a carbon-based electrode.

Ferro Silicon is drained from the electric oven in a liquid state for refractory pans. This metallic alloy is cooled in ingot molds for solidification, and then it is classified according to chemical composition to later be crushed according to chemical and physical specifications of customers.

The granulometry of the products is made in the crushers, according to the customer’s request and  it follows the technical standards of ABNT and ASTM. The final product can be supplied in big bags or in bulk.
